Soulscape made his way to LA from Korea yesterday afternoon and I had a brief moment to hang with him…. For those of you whom are unfamiliar with his work, don’t be startled. He is unknown to many in the Americas, but is making a name for himself at very rapid pace. Soulscape, who is also a director and producer, will be making his west coast DJ debut on Saturday. He will be providing the sounds for Michael Dupouy’s All Gone book release party at Stüssy LA. He and his 360 Sounds crew are making a lot of noise lately, and now he is getting a chance to showcase his talents abroad. We had a chance to rap about everything from fashion to music to travel and it was interesting to see his take on things. His sets normally consist of rare Korean breaks and grooves, this will be something that you won’t want to miss. Every once in a while, a pleasant surprise comes along… Today, that pleasant surprise happened to be a pair of Pointer A.J.S. kicks. The A.J.S. is the newest silhouette from Pointer and a nice addition to the existing Pointer lineup. This company has been on my radar for some time now, but this is my first pair. They feature a high grade of leather, with contrast stitching, a low profile sole, and are very comfortable. These should be popping up in Pointer retailers within the upcoming weeks, so keep an eye out!

Undefeated and Masterpiece have been working very closely and here is the latest collaborative effort from the two camps. This is a nice piece of light outerwear to have as we are nearing the end of winter. Available only at UNDFTD JP is the new UNDFTD + MP 60/40 Mountain Jacket. The “rescue orange” inner lining is stamped with the Undefeated 5 Strike logo, while the outer layer features a 2-tone colorway in a nylon blend suitable for all weather conditions. Both colors are currently available on the Undftd JP E-store.

WeSC and Generic Surplus will be having a warehouse & sample sale starting tomorrow, November 19th, until Saturday the 21st. This sale only happens once a year, so if you are in the area I suggest you try and make it. New to the lineup this year is Generic Surplus. They have been making a lot of noise this year, and with already low price points this would be a great opportunity to bag some sweet items for less. More details below.

Today was filled with excitement, and the main reason why is because of these Oakley Jawbones that I received. Nick J. from Oakley came into the shop and hand delivered them, reminiscent of the Pony Express days. For those that don’t know, I’ve been an avid cyclist for a few years and try to ride as much as possible. I hadn’t found the right frame to wear while riding until now. The Jawbones are extremely comfortable and easily the most functional of any sunglasses that I have ever owned. These are available now via Oakley retailers and Oakley’s online shop.

NIXON brings us the newest installment of their Fluro Rubber Player collection, this time it will have more of a meaning behind it. The reason being is that October is internationally recognized as the official month for Breast Cancer Awareness. A portion of the proceeds will benefit B4BC, a non-profit organization focused on Breast Cancer Awareness. The watch will have the same 3-hand Japanese quartz movement, as well as a diamond at the 6 o’clock position. It released at Nixon Dealers and the Nixon online shop today, October 15th.

Adidas Original by Originals hosted a launch party the other evening for the David Beckham line designed by James Bond. The event was held at the Adidas space on Melrose in Los Angeles. DJ Muggs of the Soul Assassins provided the sounds while David Beckham and James Bond paraded the crowd to talk about the project. The space was dimly lit with cool concrete floors, white leather couches, plush carpet squares and small planter boxes filled with grass. Displayed alongside both walls were select pieces from the collection with every aspect of the line included. All items are now available at select Adidas locations and Adidas Original accounts worldwide.

There has been a huge increase in the popularity of electronic music in recent times. This increase has blurred the lines between genres and has allowed projects like the following to occur and be accepted by the masses. Riding the waves of the electronic explosion, Dubstep music is now making it’s way into the US mainstream. Today was the release of  Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian’s Embrace The Renaissance Vol.1, presented by Cashmere Agency & mixed by DJ Plastician. This mix includes well know artists Eve, Snoop Dogg, Grand Puba, along with up and comers U-N-I and CurT@!n$. It’s an interesting fusion of Hip-Hop & Dubstep and a taste of what is to come in the future of music. Download here.

During the release of the Clae Fall 09 line yesterday, at the Shop-In-Shop event inside of Stussy LA, there was a special pair on display that caught everyone’s attention. That pair was said to be an upcoming collaboration between Stussy and Los Angeles based brand Clae. The Kennedy, one of Clae’s most popular silhouettes, was the shoe of choice for this design. It features a variety of textures and colors which include a navy canvas upper, white vulcanized sole, tan leather accents, and a subtle plaid cotton lining. Look to hear and see more from both parties closer to the release date.

Stussy and footwear company Clae will join forces to launch a shop-in-shop which will be open until January of 2010. In celebration of the occasion there will be an opening event tomorrow night, August 28th, inside of the space. Clae will be displaying their newest line-up for Fall 2009 and distributing gift bags throughout the night. Food and drinks will be provided, along with sounds by Stones Throw artist Dam Funk & Selector jD of Deadly Dragon Sound.

Supreme recently posted their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection to give us a look at what they have in store this season. The stand out piece, that is sure to be the most popular in this drop, is a collaborative effort with Disney to license the use of Mickey Mouse on a pullover hood. A majority of the line has stayed true to the Supreme style. They are continuing to bring us a nice variety of woven button-ups, chinos, technical outerwear, beanies, tees, and caps. The first drop of the collection will be next Thursday, September 3rd, at Supreme NY/LA. Japan will follow the US release on Saturday, September 5th, and the online shop is slated to have a September 10th release.
