You’ve no doubt been following S.N.S. Herning‘s rise online over the past couple of months like we have been, but it’s only after getting to know its history that we’re deciding to follow suit. Soren Nielson Skyt founded S.N.S. Herning in Denmark in 1931. Skyt made a living selling his knitwear with revolutionary “bubble” patterns that served as extra insulation for its wearers in the colder climes of Denmark and on the Baltic and North seas. Today, Skyt’s son still runs the brand from its original home in the city of Herning, and they continue to employ the original techniques and knowledge to make their knitwear. The Stark cardigan was first produced in 1971 and is still made to the same standards, even woven on the same looms. It is made from 100% virgin wool and features a signature textured pattern, funnel neck, and metal buttons. It’s the very definition of a classic. Available here.
