FRED PERRY × SIZE?

Size?, England’s supreme sneaker authority, have collaborated with Fred Perry on two fresh releases this season: the Byron boot and a custom Twin-Tipped polo. The project was inspired by the ‘Great British countryside’ with a focus on functional design, rich colors and a touch of regal flair. The polo, pictured above in olive and gold, features a twin-tipped collar and sleeve, the signature size ‘?’ logo below the FP Laurel, and an eye-catching interior check lining. The Byron boot, pictured above in carbon blue, is definitely the standout piece of the collaboration, featuring premium waxed canvas upper, custom metal eyelets and lace tips and, like the polo, a sweet interior check lining. Size? has locations across the UK, but you can shop online here.

Anachronorm × Yield Denim Shirt

Denim shirts used to be a thing of the past. However, it’s been a recurring motif that old things shelved because of their inability to keep up with mainstream demand, are given a second shot and then manage to somehow find their way into the wardrobes of a different crowd. Certainly the denim shirt is one such item that has been given a new lease on life and this fresh new outlook has seen the piece worn with a renewed vigor. Now a fashion staple, its versatility is what has captured the attention of guys and girls alike. From the casual look to the formal one, it’s hard to make a case against pairing the denim shirt with any outfit imaginable. Maybe an exaggeration, but it’s nice to see that people have welcomed its return with open arms. Here, Japanese retailer Yield team up with Japanese clothing line Anachronorm to put their unique spin on the classic item. Everything about this shirt deviates from the norm, and needless to say the outlandish features – from the yellow-half zip to the button-up collar -  are quite refreshing, if not a little daring, but those small touches are exactly what is needed to inject a little bit more distinctiveness into a piece that hasn’t changed much over the years. Ebbets Field Flannels Caps

Further proof that all great headwear hasn’t all but gone way to the 5-panel. Even though throwback team logos are anything but new with brands like No Mas on the streets and even NHL teams sporting them every now and again, we always welcome the sight of any kind of retro logo. Ebbets Field Flannels is known for its faithful reproductions of vintage baseball paraphernalia—each team logo is carefully researched and authenticated and, to ensure historical accuracy, every item is crafted from original fabrics.

Teams: the Newark Bears, one of the greatest minor league teams ever, with illustrious alums including Yogi Berra; the Brooklyn Tip-Tops (named after the owner’s bread company), who played for only two short-lived years; the original Los Angeles Angels, part of the Pacific Coast League which, in the early 1900s, rivaled the majors; another PLC great, the San Francisco Seals, where all three DiMaggio brothers got their start. And although the 1939 New York Knights is a fictional team from the film The Natural, Robert Redford’s portrayal of a 35-year-old rookie forever carved them a place in baseball lore. Available here.

Fred Perry × Resistant Randshell Backpack

This is something completely surprising to come from Fred Perry, even though we’re all familiar with their very successful accessories collaborations with Raf Simons. This time Fred Perry has teamed up with relatively unknown Japanese bike bag-makers Resistant for their interpretation of the classic Randshell. This is our first time coming across Resistant, but if you’re a huge messenger bag fan, a quick trip to their site won’t disappoint with some bright color combinations that remind us of Incase. We’re particularly fond of the technical aspects of this Randshell with a waterproof-construction, straps to transport a spare wheel and fond of the decision to maintain the overall classic aesthetic with metal hardware pieces and the rustic brown canvas. Available here.

MISMO | The Ultimate Personal Companion

MISMO | The Ultimate Personal CompanionIt’s interesting times out there if you’re in the market for a canvas bag. With the growing acceptance among men for totes for everyday use and duffles for carry-on travel, more and more brands have been entering the market, each with a claim of putting their own spin on canvas. Small, but quickly growing, Danish brand Mismo‘s spin on canvas almost qualifies of a lack of spin. And that’s a good thing. Instead, Mismo brings it back to basics by championing simplicity in design and construction, with superior quality materials in the form of rugged, water resistant canvas and full grain leather accents. Behind Mismo’s products is the philosophy that real luxury arises from the choices made – about what to subtract, and what would should remain. While we’re currently in the midst of being unkind to a MS Shopper bag (shown above) to see how it fares overtime, we had a quick chat with Mismo founder Adam Alexander Bach about Danish design, collaborations and the worst part about his job, along with a peak inside his operation.

Before Mismo I did not have so many worries, nor did I have so many thrills….

The name Mismo comes from Spain…. Mismo has two meanings; “the same” or “something that refers to yourself”, which we liked as reference to the personal marks each person leave on their bag because of the natural materials we use.
