Much like other East-coasters we’ve been stocking up on quality layering pieces that can be worn under coats or on their own. Having nothing to do with the recent start of hunting season, we browsed Filson and came across this mid-weight Cape coat in Mackinaw wool. While we won’t be using it for hunting we find it incredibly versatile for our needs nonetheless. Built for a variety of weather, the materials on this jacket absorbs up to 30% of its weight in water without becoming damp or clammy, and we’re liking the “cape” with the additional layer of wool sewn over front shoulders and upper back.
