We’ve already posted his work before, but Keith Scofield deserves another shout out for his latest masterpiece, the music video for Charlotte Gainsbourg’s ‘Heaven Can Wait’, featuring Beck. The director has a keen eye for comedy, nostalgia and a touch of the absurd, backed up oodles of talent both behind the camera and in post-production. On the ad side, he’s put together hilarious spots for brands like Fruit Roll-Ups and Axion. On the music front, he’s already earned himself the nod for Best Rock Video at the 2008 UK Music Video Awards for Supergrass’ ‘Bad Blood’, as well as the iTunes 2008 Video of the Year for his cheeky video for BPA’s ‘Toe Jam’. His latest, ‘Heaven Can Wait’, is a feast for the eyes and fits Gainsbourg like a glove: gorgeous, dramatic and always jarring. After all, if anyone can get away with doing her makeup in the bathroom while a dinasaur in a wig watches her from the bathtub, it’s Charlotte Gainbourg.
