We’re just going to come out and say it, this will be one of the biggest music events of the year. BLAKROC. 1 album. 11 days of recording. 11 of the biggest names in hip-hop - Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, NOE, Nicole Wray, Billy Danze and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, all alongside The Black Keys (the Akron-based garage rockers). The project, spearheaded by rapper Jim Jones features songs from sessions that got underway in early summer in Brooklyn, N.Y., with Mos Def’s songs among the first put to tape – Blakroc feat Mos Def – On The Vista. You can see the video sessions on the official BLAKROC site, we’ve been listening to them in the background until the album drops on Nov. 27, otherwise known as Black Friday.
