HUF Sherpa Lined Flannel

Big check plaids are where it’s at this season. One’s that are lined and can be worn as a stand alone or over top a sweater for the later months are even better. Shout outs to the Sherpa lined flannel from HUF. HUF, or the man behind it, pro-skateboarder Keith Hufnagel has been killing it for a minute now with recent footwear collabs with Reebok, Nike, Van’s and Converse (yes, in that order) and, Keith was just interviewed by ESPN. While every single piece HUF releases sometimes eludes us, the stand alone pieces, like this one, are the business and as good for Canadian winters as they are out in CA. Available here.

Visvim Nomad 3L Jacket

The Nomad 3L jacket from Visvim has always been recognized as one of their most technical pieces even though everybody always recognizes all their outerwear materials as among some of the finest around. This seasons Nomad 3L, spots some noticeable changes, most notably, the removal of the leather accents and addition of some colored accents. No other specifics on the technical details (this is just a co-sign), but if last year’s 3L Nomad was any indication, the water resistant material with Gore-Tex lining remain. Available here.

Back in the day, Footjoy Classics were my jam on the golf course. Before I knew anything about hand craftsmanship, leather soles and welts, I wanted to wear these off the course. Sadly, the Brockton, Massachusetts factory were they were produced closed this Spring. Golf-inspired shoes for off the course aren’t new, but Northhampton’s Crockett & Jones has done it better than we’ve ever seen. Founded in 1879 in the heart of Britain’s shoe making region, Crockett & Jones have specialised in making Goodyear-welted shoes for more than 100 years. Using only the finest calf leathers from the leading tannieries of Europe, Crockett & Jones are individually crafted,  designed to produce the best possible fitting characteristics. Each pair takes up to eight weeks to manufacture in a painstaking process which involves over 200 highly skilled operations. Loving the brick sole. Available here.

Porter Ruck Sack

Porter Ruck SackPorter Ruck SackWith all the attention given to Porter’s small accessories and shoulder bags, totes and cases, their backpacks or ‘ruck sacks’ are often overlooked in some circles.  Regardless, they live up to the moniker of Japan’s finest luggage company named after the people who still handle more bags than anybody else.  This ruck sack with a removable zipper pack is a part of Porter’s orange-lined TANKER series which has been part of the collection since 1983 and since undergone some incarnations, the PORTER x adidas Five-Two 3 Nizza immediately comes to mind. The bag features an ultra-durable sheen Polymide outer and a large internal compartment with drawstring and clasp closure. While the shape leaves something a little more to be desired, the functionality can’t be beat. Available here.

MASTERMIND JAPAN SCARF

MASTERMIND JAPAN SCARF

People either love or hate the skull and crossbones of Mastermind Japan but for us, they seem to be the only ones employing it correctly and subtly. And while these frayed and tasseled scarves have been seen on every 10th person you pass in the streets as of late, nobody else is killing it in cashmere. And unlike its mainstream counterparts, there won’t be any political fallout on this one. Available here.

Timberland Abington Guide Boot

Word of Timberland‘s premium footwear label, Abington, and their collection of boots originally made news in early September but since we’re seeing these in more and more shops as of late, we felt it deserved a shout out. Created to provide high quality workwear shoes for today’s market, Abington’s feature leathers from 100 year old Chicago based company Horween Leather Co. and top quality Vibram outsoles. The Guide Boot is based on vintage hunting moccasins and is no doubt our favorite from the entire collection. We’re particularly fond of the fact that it looks less chunky and more streamlined than a Red Wing. In all, it’s another addition to a solid selection of quality boots for the Fall thus far. Available here.

BASSJUMP PORTABLE SUBWOOFER

Designed exclusively for MacBook, BassJump is a one-of-a-kind, go anywhere, USB-powered subwoofer that turns your MacBook into a mini sound system.  Custom software blends the music coming out of your built-in speakers with the sound output of the BassJump for dramatically enhanced audio performance. BassJump adds to your built-in MacBook speakers and make them sound even better by adding mid- and low-frequencies through one well-designed, travel-sized subwoofer. The included software combines audio coming from your MacBook speakers with the low frequency bass coming from the BassJump subwoofer. By blending up to two audio sources, you hear a dramatically richer, fuller sound. One single USB cable delivers power and sound. Points for making it look like a Mac Mini. Available here.

BLAKROC CAMARO

Untitled-2

In a rare collaboration, rock/rap group BlakRoc has hooked up with Chevrolet to put out the BlakRoc Camaro. It has all the specs of the already-fresh 2010 model but with custom upgrades, including custom logo design, embroidered Center Console and Headrests, tinted windows, smoked taillights, 22” Lexani LX15 wheels and, my personal favorite, an upgraded Boston Acoustic 500 Watt Amp with subwoofer – perfect for bumping BlakRoc’s signature bass-heavy sound. The BlakRoc Chevy Camaro is available now; the group’s self-titled debut album drops November 27th. More pictures, courtesy of D&F’s Ted Domohowski, after the jump.

The North Face Plaid Gore-Tex

The-North-Face-Plaid-Gore-Tex
Having celebrated their 40th milestone just last year, The North Face is still moving forward with a new addition to this years releases. The jacket features full gore-tex exterior meaning it is fully waterproof and moisture permeable, while their top of the line cotton will ensure a great insulation. They’ve added a classic navy and green plaid check pattern to the shell making this piece a standout from their regular line. One can now dress stylishly & casually yet most importantly, staying warm. It is understood that a 40 year old company with a background in performance outerwear should stick to its roots, but we believe this is a strong approach by TNF. Without creating a splash, they’ve definitely made a statement.

United Bamboo Arron Oxford

United Bamboo Arron Oxford

Originally, we were really excited over these because we thought they were navy uppers with a white sole but alas, we were fooled. The consolation prize however, remains a winner. This black leather classic oxford with a white rubber sole from United Bamboo is obviously versatile enough to go from dressy to casual, which is why we’re into it. As a side note, UB has been crushing it as of late it seems in the footwear game following up their collaboration with Common Projects with their contribution to the Converse 1HUND(RED) Chuck Taylor All Star and their White Saddle Shoe which, incidentally, is now on sale. Available here.
