Bringing a sophisticated adult look to any wardrobe, this YMC Side-Cinch Zip Up Cardigan in Plum/Burgundy is every bit as timeless as the brand itself. As part of the AW 09/10 collection, the British brand is going far back to draw inspiration from the classic workwear born out of the Great Depression in the 30s -simple, yet built to last. A nice tailored touch is found due to Talon zips and cinch back detail created a more slim line not typically seen in a wool/cotton blend sweater.

We’re thrilled to announce the debut launch of YMC online at my-wardrobe.com for Autumn Winter – tell us a bit about the current collection.
YMC: Autumn winter 09/10, YMC’s collection harks back to the harsh but simpler times of early 20th century, when clothes were basic, classic, and made to last. Inspired by European and American work wear from the great depression of the 1930’s, the menswear collection features traditional natural fabrics – cotton, flannel, and cotton and wool mixes. Leather coats are lined with military blankets, whilst priest collars lend shirts an air of austerity. Other pieces, though inspired by pioneer hunting and fishing, benefit from modern technical advances. In true YMC style attention to detail is paramount – chinos are tapered to a perfect fit, duffle coats are beautifully lined with shearling.
We are very excited to offer our customers a YMC exclusive this season – what was the design inspiration for the Side Cinch Zip Up Cardigan.
YMC: A classic design, inspired by hunting jackets which we have converted into this knitted zip through cardigan which features Talon zips and cinch back detail and the darting effect at the back creates a nice silhouette. The exclusive colour for my-wardrobe.com of Burgundy is something we felt would complement the French blue, flannel grey, bone and yellow seen throughout the collection.

Talk about the rise of knitwear over the last few years.
YMC: Something that we feel is a staple part of any collection, knitwear is an offering for something that will last and has a certain luxury to it as well a great investment piece.
