Having been a fan of Bill Plympton’s work far longer than West’s, we jumped at the opportunity to snatch one of these up on pre-order. While we never got around to reading Thank You and You’re Welcome, West’s first foray into literature or the more recent Glow In The Dark, we find the artwork by two-time Academy Award-nominee Bill Plympton really something to behold. Through the Wire is an illustrated novel with words and lyrics from Kanye West, and illustrations from world renowned illustrator Bill Plympton. In this novel, Kanye takes us on a journey through stages of his early career from folding shirts at GAP, to his early successes as a producer. The illustrations by Plympton helps us understand the lyrics of 12 different songs, allowing us a visual representation of Kanye’s vision.
