Spiral Wine Cellar

showcase5

Created by Georges Harnois, who noticed that most modern homes didn’t have wine cellars or a safe place to store bottles for safekeeping this design is inspired by historic French underground staircases. The custom storage cellar is a watertight, pre-cast cylindrical system that’s sunk into the ground of your home, and  can be located anywhere from your kitchen and living room to your workshop. It keeps up to 1,900 bottles of wine (with a few Cristal bottles in between) and like a standard cellar, keeps the bottles fresh with the surrounding earth and its unique air-flow system. Check out some info here on getting your own. Watch the video of the Spiral Cellar in action and making of, here.

the thing is nowadays these “wine cellars” would be a better use if they were “bomb shelters” XD

looks great. makes us feel like we were going into a batcave. but also looks like alot of job and money to build…although it keeps your wine safe.

imagine all the bottles were replaced with sneakers or any collectible as a display. so a room with 4 wine cellars but all museum type displays…every step would be the most amazing discovery :) and of course the wine

Fantastic, I want one although I live in a 1st floor flat so the neighbours may complain somewhat. Could maybe do in the garden through the bomb shelter?
