Design Studio STEADY have released an animated short for the Nike 2009 free run sneaker. You probably won’t get chased by giant robots and sneaker eating plants but if you want to get back into shape you might want to cop a pair of these.

First spotted at the Triple Trouble 2 exhibition at Galerie Lazy Dog in Paris by our boy Karl Hab, it has now been confirmed that this Wings+Horns varsity jacket for Le Cool Cats will be put into production in very limited quantities. Featuring Wings+Horns’ Melton Wool Award varsity jacket with Melton wool body and leather sleeves and trim with So-Me’s Cool Cats icon. This unique collaboration marks the second time Le Cool Cats have chosen to go with a Canadian company, the first being with Cement for their jewelery line.
For most of us that won’t be able to get the Cool Cats version, the straight up W+H Award varsity jackets are available at HAVEN. Hit the jump for the other colorway.

San Francisco-based designer Joey Roth, most known for his Sorapot design, has entered the audiophile speaker market with his new ceramic design. Completely avoiding plastic, the speaker is mainly constructed of porcelain along with a Baltic birch base and a rear panel made of cork. The overall effect is certainly one of minimalist beauty. These four-inch speakers will kill on any desktop and come with a stainless steel sheet metal amplifier (complete with Paulownia volume slider) and copper speaker cables with gold-plated, banana plug connectors. However, Roth is quick to note that the setup is not proprietary and the use of banana plugs and 1/8″ jacks means they will work with nearly any hi-fi components. Pre-order for the first 200 pairs is available now at Roth’s site here.

While we find most of Dries Van Noten pieces inaccessible, both in terms of price and style, we’ve been noticing more and more clean looking pieces as of late. In this Cropped Valence jacket in khaki, gone are the usual creative prints and layering usually synonymous with DVN, leaving nothing but a stripped down, covert, Fall jacket. With a quality flannel, raw denim and beaten up work boots, you’re good to go. Available here.
Nez Khammal is a director on the rise. As part of Colonel Blimp’s star-studded roster, Nez first made a splash in 2008 with videos for M.I.A.’s ‘Jimmy’ and Kano’s ‘Hustler’, the latter earning him the Best Urban Music Video award at the 2008 British VMAs. He has since gone on to direct the gorgeous short film promoting Halston’s 2009 Fall line, as well as an equally eye-catching music video for Paolo Nutini’s ‘Candy’. But it’s his most recent work for rising star Kid Cudi that is turning heads across the pond. ‘Make Her Say’ is a great example of what we can look forward to from the young director: beautifully rich composition with a penchant for the dramatic.

We’ve seen many custom trainers come and go from all kinds of illustrators, these ones just may be the ones to have. These Nike Air Max 90′s feature the work of Andy Warhol’s silk screen prints of the iconic Marliyn Monroe. Don’t get it twisted, while they look as if though they have been screen/digitally printed on like every other artist collaboration you’ve seen in the past, each AM90 has actually been illustrated on the sneaker with famous Pentel Posca pens. Available here. More pics after the jump.

For those among us that are really into photo essays, CR has an amazing first look Dean Rogers Death Drive that will be premiering at the Wapping Project in London. The exhibition of photographs show the places where nine of our cultural heroes were killed in car crashes – above left is that of James Dean, and above right, artist Jackson Pollock. According to CR, “Rogers took the images on the anniversary of the deaths, at the exact time of day they occurred, and in the precise position the car was before impact.” Other featured heroes include Albert Camus, Helmut Newton, Marc Bolan, Eddie Cochrane and of Princess Diana. Each, eerily beautiful.
The exhibition on October 4, and will run until November 1. Rogers will discuss his work in a talk on October 7.
