While he may not be involved in the day to day, there is no doubt that Shepard Fairey has a say in what gets developed under the Obey Clothing brand he founded in 2001. With the help of designers Mike Ternosky and Erin Wignall, the brand has gone through many changes throughout the years, hitting many different styles and drawing on very diverse influences. But there is no doubt that the acclaimed street artist knows the street, a small detail that often goes overlooked by self-labeled “streetwear” brands. What this current Holiday collection show’s is just how far Obey has come since the early years of using t-shirts as another creative outlet for graphics. The lineup is smart, refined, modern and casual, yet is still street. From plaid shirts, to slim jeans to some brilliant coats, the look is sophisticated and tough. Even though each individual piece comes together nicely, the overall effect is greater when worn in combination.
More looks from Obey after the jump.
