Ann Rinstrand and Stefan Soderberg’s brand Hope, takes a typically Scandinavian minimalist approach to design, preferring to let the item’s functionality and essential look come through to the surface without being inundated with gadgets and useless intricate patterns. Based in Stockholm, the 8 year old brand has proved its merit numerous times over, being named “Newcomer of the Year” in 2005 and “Designer of the Year” in 2007 by Cafe Magazine (Sweden’s answer to Esquire or GQ). Rinstrand’s work as a designer at H&M provides the backdrop for a collection that includes everything from Men and Women’s clothing to footwear to accessories.
The Big Bag is a perfect example of the brand’s essence, and just happens to be one of the nicest weekend bags we’ve seen in a long while. Made with a smooth leather in a brilliant dark gray tan, the exterior is stripped down to its bare essentials. While inside you’ll find a cotton lining with zip pockets and pouches, the choice of using a white zipper adds that level of uniqueness we so desperately are looking for. Keep an eye out for this brand in the future.
Available here – and it’s on sale for half-price.
