Whether you like them or not, the creation, hype and subsequent release of the Air Yeezy has been one of the greatest shoe collaborations of all time. The 3 drops were huge events held around the world and garnered as much attention as Kanye West’s recent up-staging of Taylor Swift. Yet we can easily forget that all this chatter was the result of some hard work on the part of Kanye, Mark Smith and the entire Nike design team, whose goal it was to produce a retro-futuristic hybrid sneaker, innovating at every step along the way to make this the standout sneaker of the year.
