AJIV-x-AF1-Fusion-3

Jordan-heads have been hit recently with a truckload of Jordan special make-ups, hybrids, and fusions. While the reactions have been somewhat mixed by the masses, you can’t hate on the latest Air Jordan IV x Air Force One Fusion style. Blending two classics into one is always a risky formula, but Jordan pulled it off this time with flying colors. Clean, crisp and simple.

Taking key elements from both styles, the AJ4 x AF1 combination let’s newbies gawk accordingly, and keeps OG heads satisfied at the same time. The icing on the cake – the style is available in the three classic color combos including white-black-cement, black-grey-red, and the almighty True Blue colorway. Click for more pics.

MAXWELL | BLACKsummers'night

If you’re not into reading music reviews, you’re in luck because we’re not fans of writing them. If you want to stop reading after this next sentence, we’ll understand. Buy Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night. It’s dope. It’s soulful. It’s R&Bish without the John Legend-esque factor that commands you to light candles and get down.  It’s a mellowed out version of Raphael Saadiq’s The Way I See It but with D’Angelo-like harmonies and jazz hands. It’s a short album, 9 songs, so you can listen to the whole album and leave us your thoughts the same night you get it. Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night is available here. And if you haven’t picked up Raphael Saadiq’s The Way I See It, please do so. You won’t be sorry.

Vivienne Westwood Credit Card Wallet

We’ve sort of been waffling between full on wallet and credit card wallet as of late. While we like being able to carry everything and more in a full-sized wallet, the credit card wallet is everything you really need, and it doesn’t ruin the line of your suit or jeans. Having recently gone the Dosh-route, most of us have gotten used carrying the bare essentials. The latest accessory collection from Vivienne Westwood features this cognac leather slip wallet with the stamped signature orb logo. Made in Italy, the 100% leather wallet only has space for 3 credit or business cards. Simple. Simple. Simple. Available here.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Porsche is bringing the racetrack to the road with its new 911 GT3 RS. Though the new RS’s engine is based on the 911 GT3‘s power plant, it now displaces 3.8 litres vs. the GT3′s 3.6 and has a maximum output of 450 horse-power compared to the GT3′s 435. It comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gear-box optimised for short gearshift travel, and for the first time with a purpose-built and specially set up PASM suspension. The RS’s improved aerodynamics provide even more downforce than the GT3, and Porsche is introducing a new option in 2010, a lithium-ion battery delivered with the car which, when replacing the conventional lead battery, reduces weight by more than 10 kg or 22 lb. The new 911 GT3 RS goes on sale in Germany in January 2010 starting at the base price of Euro 122,400.

We’re always up for discovering shops home and abroad, and our mate Andrew from across the pond led us to this fine shop in Birmingham, UK. The Candy Store, founded by Ian Cumberbatch in 2007, is one of the UK’s most exclusive streetwear boutiques. They pick a selection of the dopest garments around stocking some of the sweetest brands about such as 10 Deep, 12 Bar, The Hundreds, Mishka, Alife, Rogue Status, Supra Footwear, Vans, DC Lifestyle, Alien NYC, Award Tour, Addict, Kid Robot, A Bathing Ape and much more. If you’ve got a sweet tooth for sweet wear and you happen to be in the area, stop in. It’s always nice to know what shops to hit up in unfamiliar territories, ain’t it? More pics after the jump.

EG’S SELVEGE ENGINEERED JACKET

Engineered Garments Engineered Jacket Selvege

It’s been really fun to discover, learn and watch Daiki Suzuki’s design reign at Engineered Garments;  fusing classic American sportswear, outdoor clothing and military uniforms into his collections. We love this quote from him that we found when we first started learning about EG, (in reference to his lines reflecting classic American clothing) “Those clothes have a natural, post modernist and deconstructive quality about them. If a button falls off you sew another one on but it probably won’t match and this makes it uniquely yours. When you find a garment that you love to wear it survives with you in its own way and becomes a second skin. It is this type of clothing that I want to make, clothes that you love wearing and become yours through the experience you have with them”. Much how the EG workshirt, is a necessary staple and good first step into making an EG piece uniquely yours, a close second most definitely has to be the signature Engineered Jacket in natural selvage. Classically detailed and versatile to be worn on its own as a blazer or jacket, it was originally produced solely for their Tokyo store and but is also exclusively available in the U.S. at Odin New York.

STEVEN ALAN MARINER PEACOAT

Mostly known for his well-cut oxfords and plaids, we’re sometimes guilty of overlooking outerwear pieces from Steven Alan. The Mariner peacoat in Charcoal wool and Olive wool offer two different looks with varying details including a quilted lining for the Charcoal with anchor button placket versus a signature plaid lining for the Olive with wood button placket. Quality remains the tops with superior quality Woolrich Woolen Mills wool and still, made in the USA. Really nice when paired with Layman pant, Funnel neck cardigan and cashmere tuque. Available here.

Frauscher 717 GT

While we try to keep the things we feature here relatively accessible, sometimes a design comes along that is just too good to pass up. Even if you’re more of a dryland-lover, you’ll be able to appreciate the design of the Fraucher 717GT. This past June, yacht-maker Frauscher introduced the world to the 717GT with the final video from the series that showcased the design and making of the new motor yacht (see them all after the jump). Staying ahead of the game both in terms of design, branding and marketing, Frauscher is the first ever yacht-maker to use this kind of teaser marketing, using high definition video podcasts to build up hype. To do this, the brand worked with a variety of media companies to tell the complete story behind the Frauscher 717 GT from the first idea to the finished boat with 5 short videos. The 717GT will have its first live public showing at the International Boat Show in Genua on October 3rd, 2009. Check out videos 1 though 4 after the jump.
