Do you really need a new cardigan, rumpled shirt and/or pea coat? The short answer is, yes. Especially, if it’s by Vincent Flumiani’s new line, Caulfield Preparatory. His first collection for Fall 2009 is heavily influenced (not surprisingly) by J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye by creating rebellious versions of preppy classics. From corduroy suits, to wool blazers, the line tells the story written by Flumiani and based on his own life, about a young man taking off an a cross-country roadtrip after taking off after school. In fact, each new piece from new lines from Caulfield Preparatory will be sold with a reprint of that collection’s chapter, allowing buyers to follow the story and experience it first-time in full costume.
Caulfield Preparatory will be available at Odin, Kesner, and Oak NYC.
