Altec Lansing announced their inMotion MIX iPod/iPhone boombox today. The unit comes with a digital FM tuner with four programmable presets, but that’s really just window dressing, since the real reason anyone would buy the inMotion MIX is for their iPod. The MIX has a universal iPod and iPhone dock but can connect with any device that plugs into either of its two AUX jacks. It has a 7-band graphic equalizer so you can fine tune the sound, depending on what you’re listening to. And speaking of sound, the inMotion MIX has two XdB bass-enhanced side-firing subwoofers, horn-loaded polypropylene tweeters and two custom-designed drivers taking care of the mid-range. You can either plug it into an AC outlet or use it on batteries (it takes 8 D batteries and runs for up to 3o hours). And to top it all off, it comes with a full-feature remote control that lets you change music sources and navigate your iPod’s playlists and songs. You can pick it up here.
