It’s always fun for us to discover a previously unknown bicycle company such as Dutch bike company VANMOO, a brand that has stayed relatively quiet since their launch in late May this year. The hands-down best feature is the  sleek aluminum rust-free frame with a highly advanced solar powered LED light system built inside its tubes (the same one lights used for airport landing strips) that turns on by wiping the key chain over the frame. Like magic the light will start flashing. These indestructible bulbs are also used for airport landing strips. They are strong and hater-proof. “We were inspired by the good old-fashioned Dutch bike”, explains the 28-year old Dutch designer Sjoerd Smit, “we stripped the bike from whims that can only break or cause frustration and added innovation and style”. VANMOOF is available in Tokyo, Barcelona, Jakarta, Paris, NYC, Milan, Sydney, Amsterdam and London.

We’ve just come across a few pieces from Martine Rose. In only her 3rd collection she’s already making moves and turning heads after showing her “Pieces Collection” at London Fashion Week‘s Menswear Dayback in February. As a founding member of acclaimed fashion label LMNOP, Rose spun that into her own label, creating striking menswear through hybrid designs such as this Oxygen Circle shirt. Using dark blue Nylon over top of black cotton, the overlapping materials create a “shirt-within-a-shirt” look. Perhaps not as drastic as the Padded Circle shirt, or as subtle as the Padded Pocket shirt (seen after the jump), both using padded, quilted nylon over the typical cotton dress shirt, the Oxygen Circle’s design is just as appealing, if not more. The Pieces collection is available now at Oki-Ni, though we doubt it’ll stay in stock for long.

BMW is unveiling its “new vision of [their] automotive future,” the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show this September. This gorgeous car is BMW’s attempt to combine the performance of a BMW M model with the fuel consumption and emissions of a modern small car. It touts a combined fuel consumption of just 3.76 litres/100 km thanks to its ActiveHybrid system. The car is powered by a three-cylinder common-rail turbodiesel and an electric motor on each axle. When not burning diesel, the car runs on 98 highly efficient lithium-polymer batteries, which get some of their juice from brake energy regeneration. BMW says that the Vision EfficientDynamics is a near-production-ready car. Here’s looking forward to seeing them on the road soon.

Todd James a.k.a REAS is an international renowned artist who had his start painting on the subways of New York in 1982. He has been one of the several driving force in the movement of Street Art . James’ style is loose, colourful and witty . Todd is having first exhibition in Paris which is running from today August 31st to 3rd October. He has issued a limited run Stussy tee for the event which is available here. Colette have also released his Wayback Throwback collection, prints, coloring book and book.

It’s remarkable Band of Outsiders continues to keep unleashing new inventive executions of the classic boat shoe. Continuing once again with Sperry Topsider, they’ve just released the Rubber Boat Shoe collection after already making some big noise not too long ago with their amazing Chukka boots (thank you Scott Sternberg). We’re always a sucker for these kinds of videos. Mongoose recently gave Chris Akrigg, six-time British national trials champion, the 2010 Maurice to try out – Mongoose’s first fixed gear bike. The story goes that Chris had never ridden a fixie before and wasn’t expecting to enjoy it, let alone get hooked, and ended up having a lot of fun with it. See the sneak peek of the 2010 Maurice after the jump. The bike is set for release in the UK this month (though no sign of it on their UK site as of yet) and is slated to retail for £349.

Back in early 2002 a couple of Danish design students figured it was a good idea to start a limited t-shirt label, sold through a retail space that housed a collection of sneakers, skateboards, toys and art books in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since then, Wood Wood has not only expanded their retail empire to Berlin and Stockholm, but has garnered international acclaim through collaborations with Nike, Adidas, Converse 1Hundr(RED), New Balance, and HuskMitNavn/Lego. Now the brand is putting their expertise behind a brand new Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber sneaker. Super simple in design, they are a throw-back to the retro origins of the sneaker, first released way back in 1982. For some reason, grey and bright blue and black colorways always say old-school, but in a good way of course. The trademark Onitsuka swooshes break up the Grey meshing perfectly, adding a bit a complexity to the simple design. To accompany the release, a custom window installation designed by Yoske and Yue can be found at the Berlin location. Music has always been something that everybody wants to be a part of and seeing as the new Sony PSP is about to drop what better to go with it than a collaboration between Rockstar games and world renowned producer Timbaland. Beaterator puts a music mixer into your hands and lets you chop up all kinds of wacky Timbaland-esque grooves, samples and chops. Beaterator will drop on September 29th, 2009 in North America and on October 2nd, 2009 in Europe. Check for more info here

Bill Amberg, long time leather and canvas experimenter, as seen from his previous Selvage Collection is one of the truths when it comes to quality and the Selvage ‘Lugger’ in high grade grain leather (upper left) and high grade canvas (the rest of ‘em) are no joke. We mean, peep those contrasting white zip closures and how the handles come out from inside rather than tacked on to the exterior. While you can’t personalize it like the Monocle Barge, it’s ultimately your call if that’s a win or loss in your books. Available here.
