While we were extremely impressed (and still excited) with the Jil Sander x UNIQLO collaboration, the bar was set unreasonably high for any upcoming announcements from the Japanese brand. There’s nothing wrong with expecting brands to one-up themselves with each new collection, is there? Unfortunately, this first look at the upcoming Fall 2009 collection does not live up to our high hopes. There are however, a few highlights to note: a focus on outerwear using a unique feature to retain & create bodyheat developed by UNIQLO and Toray, a great array of colors – from bright cyan to autumn orange, and a continued insistence on using high-end materials like cashmere and merino wool. Even though wearing each of these pieces at once would guarantee an appearance here, the collection offers some unique and interesting pieces to spice up your fall wardrobe.
