Know what I’m loving right now? My Bose In-Ear Headphones. There’s something to be said about having the absolute best of something. I’m not sure I’ll ever own the best car or even the best frying pan, but I did recently get something considered to the best in-ear headphones for my iPhone – the Bose in-ear headphones.
I was planning on getting an on-ear Bose QuietComfort 2 Acoustic NoiseCancellingheadphones, but I’m not a DJ, don’t plan on being a DJ, don’t want to look like a DJ, and something about playing Sebastien Tellier or Grizzly Bear through them just wouldn’t seem right. Priced at around $100 these aren’t the most expensive, but are a big step above the standard iPhone headphones. I decided upgrade after being shocked one too many times as if I was being punished for listening to Kid Cudi leaks.
I was reluctant to buy them after seeing my friend go through 3 pairs of the same ones in under a year, but if you can’t trust the opinion of a person who is willing to invest over $350 on Bose headsets, who can you trust? A defect was causing the plastic part holding the silicon tip to break off on previous versions but the good folks at Bose in Boston, assured me the new models had corrected this problem.
Straight up, these are the most I’ve ever spent on headphones, but they’ve also been the best I’ve ever had PERIOD. Exterior wise: incredible design and detailing. Portable. Convenient. The silicon tips come in 3 interchangeable sizes (which actually stay in place unlike its predecessors) so they stay snug in your ear while you run after the bus and deliver baselines and quality even if though they’re lower grade MP3’s. The one drawback is that there’s no mic/skip forward control however, I was never a fan of talking into stock iPhone headphones as it was just too close to donning a Bluetooth earpiece and being OK with it (you know what I’m talking about).
While the occasional MP3 listener won’t go the Bose route, novice audiophiles will find this to be a worthy option with incredible value, while the more dedicated may wish to go with an the on-ear Bose QuietComfort’s for maximum exterior noise canceling, something I wish I had on a recent flight. The Bose In-Ear Headphones are available on Amazon.com.
