Diadora Bjorn Borg Original Sneaker

Diadora isn’t a brand that’s really entered mainstream just yet, at least in the States, or you already kick it old school tennis style. While the brand is more known for its soccer and other athletic shoes, they’ve taken some new steps with their Heritage collection.  When it comes to sneakerss, I’ve always been a fan of clean colorways so I’m really into these Bjorn Borg original tennis re-issues that the former No.1 world champ made popular back in the 70′s. I double checked the 1978′s Borg’s and these are pretty much on par, except for a perforated toe and red stripe. These all white sneakers feature a silver form stripe and heel tab as well as soft leather uppers for comfort and will be a limited release in August. Clean, plain and simple so they’ll go with everything on top of Italian design. You can pre-order them here.

Pop-Up Skate Park by TCH

TRANS

Few people know about The Cool Hunter‘s sub-brand TCH Platinum, which collaborates with brands to help them stand out in all the clutter much the same way LA MJC does. After one sneak peak, they’ve unvieled their latest invention:an ingenious pop-up skate park that can be set up virtually anywhere to help raise the profile of skateboarding. There are two concepts in the works – Transformers and Space Invaders. TCH explains,”Two oversized Autobot Transformer robots, impressively positioned at either end of the skate park, signify guardianship of the ramp and those who use it, echoing seamlessly the Transformers film concept of robots protecting humans”, and as for Space Invaders they’ll feature, “a pair of larger-than-life Space Invader characters frame the two ends of the skating environment. Made from translucent Perspex, these illuminated figures create the visual masthead for the Skate Invaders Park”. Each will come complete with ramps, bowls, half-pipes, landings and will be fully illuminated along with light projected designs. They’ve also done up some matching Mini Coopers to coincide with the launch!

See all the photos of the project after the jump.

Nike Safari Lined Windrunner

Nike Safari Lined Windrunner

Been awhile since I posted something new from Nike, actually, this is a new, oldie. Nike’s humble windrunner has been around since the 1970s, and has been as popular trackside as it has been on the street. With the distinctive chevron panelling and hooded design it has been imitated on many occasions, but never bettered. For their FW09 range Nike are looking to celebrate their classic patterns and this windrunner is lined with a cotton ‘Safari’ print layer. The Nike logo design on the left is a nice departure from the straight up swoosh and could possibly even pass off as another brand altogether which I really like. With the classic swoosh normally reserved for athletic wear, this classic could easily be worn a little bit more formally than a straight up track jacket – ah, versatility. Oh, and if you’re the matching type, I strongly suggest pairing this jacket with the Nike ‘Safari’ Air Max 1‘s. Jacket available here.
