This is no joke, ‘Spaceport America’ is now officially under construction in New Mexico, and is expected to being sending tourists into space as early as next year, aboard Virgin Galactic flights. Designed by London-based architecture firm Foster + Partners, the facility looks like a cross between a crop circle and something out of the new Star Trek movie. For about 200K, you’ll be launched off the 10,000-foot runway, fly up to 50,000 feet, break free and fly up to 62 miles in total height, for a two hour flight -including five minutes of weightlessness. If you’re wondering, there are already 45,000 people who’ve signed up.
