The first tape I ever wore out to the point of it disintegrating was Michael Jackson’s Thriller. To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever hear another album as complete and as perfect as that one. No matter how controversial his life was, the undeniable fact was that MJ has changed music and even stardom forever. He was like Elvis Presley in more ways than he’d hoped for, he gave us the Moonwalk, the diamond-studded white glove, and dance moves that made James Brown seem like he was on tranquilizers.
