When you have an image problem, you hire a publicist. America has an image problem, Paper Magazine, hired them a publicist. This right here, is the power of a good idea. As Paper explains, “Right now America is like a company teetering on bankruptcy — we have lost so much credibility and brand currency over the past eight years. And so we invited some of the best visual communicators we know (from ad gurus to artists) to create original advertising concepts that could redefine our country’s image. Welcome to U.S.A. 2.0.”  People such as Alex Bogusky (the man behind Subservient Chicken and Whopper Freakout, amongst others), Dan Weiden (the man behind W+K and Nike ads), Andy Spade (co-founder of Jack and Kate Spade) and Shepard Fairey, they were all asked “HOW WOULD YOU REBRAND AMERICA?” They came back with a print campaign.

Check out all the work here.
