Some food for thought today: We all know Porter kills it in the luggage and accessories game, but when they branch out and do collabs, do you feel it dilutes the core of what they’re already known for, or does it further add to their credibility? Case in point, this collaboration with surf brand Quicksilver. Does it add credibility to Quicksilver while diminishing Porter’s status, or vice versa? This is the kind of stuff that keeps me up at night.
For the first time, Quiksilver invites Takashi Kumagai of Porter fame, to do a capsule collection including jackets, Bermuda shorts, polos and bags. The collection is inspired by the 70s and 80s along with Quicksilver’s surfing heritage. Available exlusively at colette.
