Lady Dior – Chapter 1

Following up last week’s post on Dior’s upcoming announcement here’s the first chapter, a 6 minute and 30 second “mini-movie”  directed Olivier Dahan and starring my new crush Marion Cotillard, basically the same team behind 2007′s French Edith Piaf bio La Vie en Rose. As previously mentioned, great production and film noir style.

picture-113

A collaboration between Burtons extreme line of AK products and Head Porters top notch brand can only have succesful results and this is proof of that. Coming in at half the price of Visvims slightly smaller 20L ballistic, we think this is a great deal, especially considering the attention to details such as the waterproof zips and high quality materials.

This made me laugh. The awkward moments involving the cultural barriers between French and Japanese just can’t be ignored. Enjoy.

Nike Air Zoom Toki TZ Sneakers

Nike Air Zoom Toki TZ

I always thought I wasn’t a big fan of the chukka until now. There was something about the silhouette I’ve always found off putting and with the recent influx of chukka’s on the shelves this summer, it’s been difficult to build my summer sneaker collection. However, these Nike Air Zoom Toki TZ sneakers have me doing some rethinking on the chukka…and Nike.  While not a new model, the Toki, based on a classic chukka boot and this time with great canvas upper is now available in a charcoal version and a summer version in yellow with lime accents. The Zoom Air in the heel is a nice touch too. Available here.

jeremy scott black goggle sunglasses

With all the collabs with adidas as of late, we were really left missing additions from Jeremy Scott’s own personal brand. OAK NYC has two models available in the usual limited quantities, the above, a black goggle shaped model and black wraparound sunglasses with visor overhang that are kitty ears when wore on top of your head. That’s right. Kitty ears.

TLC’s icon Toyota Landcruiser

icon

This is what happens when you take a classic design of the Toyota Land-Cruisers and re-build them with the passion of the original look and feel but updated with today’s tech. That’s what ICON does with its FJ packages that allow owners to completely customize the look and feel with old school or new school packages. TLC’s ICON was born because Toyota commissioned TLC to build prototypes for the new FJ that was released in 2007. Although Toyota didn’t use TLC’s designs that were inspired by the classic FJ’s of old, Johnathan Ward who is the founder of TLC decided to custom build them himself. Hit the jump to see some other custom models or the Icon website to read more.

Nike Trainer 1 Release

You wouldn’t believe how upset we are that we missed the release event for this in LA yesterday, especially since I was a big fan of the original, which I’ve had in all of atleast 4 colorways. The original Nike Air Trainer was worn by world-class athletes Bo Jackson and John McEnroe, which ignited the athletic training shoe craze 20 years ago!

This updated model includes something called DiamondFLX, a patent-pending outsole system that provides flexibility and support through multi-directional movement – ideal for any training regimen. It also seems to be using flywire and a freesole with a max-air unit in the heel. You’ve seen this shoe before when it was featured in the UNDFTD x Manny Pacquiao collaboration, but this new colorway is fresh.

Available in the U.S. beginning July 1, 2009 at $90 USD. Check the pics and video (w/ Bo Jackson) after the jump. Buy them, because Bo knows!
