Coming to your feet in July at Agenda in Huntington Beach, it’s the Skytop II from Supra. Is it a boot-shoe hybrid? No one really knows anything at this point, other than what you see in the mysterious picture above.

Limitedhype takes you inside Milan Design Week 2009, with the help of special guest collaborator Dirk Zylstra, Director of Design & Development for Eureka Lighting. For those of you who don’t know, Milan Design Week 2009 is like a Mecca for all product, furniture, lighting, interior designers and architects. The main attraction is Salone Internazionale del Mobile (Furniture and accessories) but included in the show are Euroluce (Decorative Lighting), Eurocucina (Kitchen products), Salone Internazionale del Bagno (Bathroom products) and the SaloneSatellite which showcases new young talent and students.
In addition to the actual show, there are events happening all around Milan. Some companies and designers show their wears in the showrooms and temporary spaces, mainly in the Zona Tortona area, but really things are hoping all over the city. This is truly an international event and the number of parties (who knew one could drink so much free Champagne?) and new products are mind blowing. It is near impossible to take it all in, and even more difficult to find a hotel room. “As a lighting fixture designer, my focus was on Euroluce, but there was inspiration and trends to be found around every corner; whether it was a great shop or watching a dapper Milanese ride a bike wearing Ermenegildo Zegna. The only downside was I feel as though I have smoked 2 packs a day for the week”… See what caught Dirk’s eye after the jump.

Great interview and video by Antenna Magazine of John Varvatos for Converse. The collaboration reinterprets Chuck Taylor All Stars and Jack Purcells to give them a vintage rock n’ roll feel. If you want to check out the shop in the video, head over to John Varvatos Bowery; 315 Bowery, NYC.

We think it would be hard to miss this great two tone club chair from Rolf Benz in any living room. Depending on personal choice you have two options for support, our preferred single support column style that gives it a retro feel or the chromed sled style support legs.

2009 sees Play Cloths, the label from highly connected Virginian coke-rap heavyweights Clipse, branching out into accessories, and from this preview it would seem with some very promising results. With its Ostrich finish and metallic details. It’s classic shape and simplicity make the Dirty Duffle Bag an essential everyday accessory.

Creative designer Ji Lee’s take on the typical chessboard. By adding an extra dimension of physicality to the game’s battle field, it changes everything. And I thought chess was hard enough in 2D! Check out his site here.

How exclusive do you want your watch to be? How about one created exclusively by M. Gerald Genta for Ritz Fine Jewelry. Not good enough for you? Well you can commission Genta himself to create a custom-designed face for you. The above model is carried exclusively by 20ltd, and reminds me of the dials on a vintage British sports car. If you can afford it, a Gerald Genta will always be one of the most exclusive watches in the world. What else would you expect from the icon who created the Patek Philippe Nautilus, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the IWC Ingenieur. Classy, sophisticated, and one of a kind.

I don’t know if you would call this collab odd or just genius. The Ace Hotel Palm Springs with Generic Surplus and Arkitip got together to design this shoe and tote combo that according to them capture the essence of Palm Springs and the eclectic style of the hotel grounds. They used a new mesh material that’s breathable for the desert heat, quick drying and non slip for the pool side servers. The Ace Tote, made out of this same mesh material, was then added as the perfect satchel to carry all the daily essentials from your room to the pool.

Not many people are aware of Ferrari’s XX-rated program. This program creates a series of super cars that bridge the gap between road and track. A little while ago Ferrari announced its latest model, the 599XX with not to many pictures, that is up until now. Just so we get the important stuff out of the way, under the hood is a V12 that produces 700 horsepower at a stratospheric 9,000 RPM.

Here’s a great concept from Teo Braun for a curved dual screen laptop that would be actually possible to do with today’s tech. The laptop has two curved screens, a big 16:9 on top and a smaller lower 4:3 that is also touch screen. Another cool feature is that the frame is sensor controlled and lights up in the dark.
