baselworld-2009-harry-winston-opus-9

It’s the Baselworld watch and jewelery tradeshow this week in the city of Basel, Switzerland so expect an influx of news about new wrist bling for the next little while. Our first story, the Opus 9 from Harry Winston. The watch will have a number of diamonds that are as functional for time telling as they are decorative. Replacing the traditional watch hands and cyclical dial, time is displayed by two parallel diamond chains, for hours and minutes. Keeping with Harry Winston’s signature shape, each chain is adorned with 33 baguette-cut diamonds. Other features: it’s an automatic self-winding watch using a chain system, power reserve of 72 hours and water resistant up to 30 meters. Opus 9 is a limited edition with only 100 of them being made.

Why do I always find nice jackets AFTER winter? Usually, I find them. Buy them. And by the start of next winter, I find them to look outdated and end up getting another one instead. It’s a fantastic way of doing things. I highly recommend it for the un-smart. Here’s my newest Spring find. The Parka Capuche from APC apparel, notable for its versatility,  loved for its fit. Checkered black and white with some nice detailing. Available here.

Blazer Mid Ice Breakers

I have two good reasons for posting these Nike Blazer Mid Ice Breakers. One, they remind me of my old Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket I used to have in Grade 6. And second, they’re reasonably priced. They feature a suede toebox, contract cyan blue stitching and black leather side panel. Available here.

Audi TT-RS Roadster

TTRS090015

Audi’s will always have a place in my heart. I simply love their design. That having been said, recently Audi rolled out the fixed-head version of its new TT-RS, but is following it up this weekend Audi with an open top version at the Leipzig AMI show in Germany. The TT-RS Roadster will have the same 340-horsepower, turbocharged 2.5-liter five cylinder as the coupe, which in this case should get the topless TT-RS to 62 mph in just 4.7 sec by putting the power down through all four wheels. The brakes also get a major upgrade with cross-drilled rotors all around, as does the suspension. I can’t wait to drive one! More pics after the jump.
