g-1 glass pool table

Pool tables are not often the subject of new design ideas, I guess they suffer from the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” stigma. But once in a while we can be surprised with something like the G-1 Glass top pool table. Looking like it would fit perfectly in a machine shop, the table is the idea of Craig Nottage from Australia. Replacing the traditional slate and cloth surface, the revolutionary pool table boasts a patented transparent resin-playing surface named Vitrik, which is available in both transparent and frosted finishes and a variety of colors. The pool table comes with an integrated ball return mechanism inside its modern metal frame and creates an astonishing ‘floating on air effect,’ as balls glide smoothly and quietly on the surface.

One Response to “g-1 glass pool table”

  • Dave K says:

The table doesn’t boast anything, it’s a rendering and immaterial. Not to mention this is a kin to playing golf with a rubber ball. It’s not “golf” if you use a different ball. The construction of pool tables isn’t really open to new interpretations as that screws with the game, even if everyone plays on the same surface it’s not the same surface people everywhere play on.

Renderings do not make a product.
