(HIT: Rick Owens Asymetric Leather Jacket)

As we close out ‘08 tonight, Rick Owens has just dropped a few releases as part of their Spring/Summer 2009 collection featuring some nice pieces, and some far misses. Case in point for a hit: The Asymmetric Leather Jacket, above. Made from the finest Calf leather and is manufactured with a stone wash treatment, fully lined in silk and cotton. Moving on, at the 808s and Heartbreak press conference in New Zealand, Kanye West unleashed Kanye-isms such as, “I may release an album just of dolphin noises”, “I barely know the lyrics to my own album” and “I wouldn’t be completely opposed to wearing Hammer slacks at some point.”

Take a minute to re-read that last quote.

I’m not really sure what else to say about these pants. I’ve spent a good hour looking at them, and trying to figure out the inspiration and more importantly, the reason behind them. I’ve got nothing. Is Kanye ahead of his time yet again and foreseeing a new fashion trend? Are these the new Venetian shades? Or, is this just fashion gone bad? I’m going to start the ‘09 celebration early today and maybe something will come to me with my DomP and OJ. All the best in ‘09.

FINALLY! The boys at LH were thinking about something like this a long time ago, only we didn’t have the know-how or money to get it off the ground. Either way, we’re happy SOMEBODY cracked it because we all know Apple dropped the ball with the iPhone camera (no zoom, no flash, ancient megapixels). For their Spring/Summer 2009 collection, Visvim  has decided to borrow a few design ques from Van’s SK8-Hi it seems! These are called the Logan’s, featured in electric blue.

A more detailed pic of the absolute, most hyped Nike release for 2009, the Air Yeezy, has been released. These were most recently spotted on DJ AM. Nicest color scheme we’ve seen yet: a yellowish tan upper with white and lime sole mixed with a few hits of pink for the interior. Check out the vid after the jump.

Entitled “After Warhol”, this piece is made up of 2524 spools of thread and she considers it to be “fairly low resolution” though it looks good to us.

Nicolas Meiresonne, a product design student from Belgium, has come up with this concept watch  focused on user experience (meaning, it doesn’t tell the exact time so much as it does the ‘perception of time).  Basically, the bracelet has different colors that show what time it is.  Blue/green = morning, yellow/orange = noon , red/purple = evening and night. The colors rotate around the bracelet and one on top indicates the current “time”.  Alright, back to celebrating the holidays, it is after all, purple-o’clock NY time.

Given that it’s still the Christmas season, the last thing I’d want to do is dampen the mood and seem anyway morbid, however, this Louis Vuitton bullet is definitely the epitome of ‘Fresh to Death’.

Designed by Australian design firm 21.19, the shell features the same Louis Vuitton pattern which features on most of our favourite accessories and travel luggage on the casing.

Okay, okay, okay, so whilst its not the most attractive laptop we have seen in the last year/2 years/5 years/10.. (you get the point), Lenovo have made up for this aesthetic detriment by adding another screen and we have to say, the potential alone warrants a little excitement.

For its latest model, the W700dc, Lenovo have really upped the stakes and created what is sure to be a revelation for the entire creative community. Due to start shipping next month, the package is expected to sell for $3600… or $1800 per screen.
